The chief part of the inhabitants are farmers, by whom the greatest part of the poor are employed in husbandry, and some in spinning of yarn for the Witney blanket-manufacturers. The following are the principal inhabitants:
Within three miles of the village is a fine mansion called Eynsham Hall, the seat of James Duberly, Esq. lord of the manor of Eynsham.
