BROUGHTON, a parish in the hundred of BLOXHAM, county of OXFORD, 3 miles (W.S.W.) from Banbury, containing, with the hamlet of North Newington, 517 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated in the king's books at £18. 16. 0½., and in the patronage of the Rev. Charles F. Wyatt. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
