BIX-BRAND, a parish in the hundred of BINFIELD, county of OXFORD, 4 miles (N.W. by N.) from Henley upon Thames, containing, with Bix-Gibwen, 383 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, with that of Bix-Gibwen consolidated, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated in the king's books at £9. 15., and in the patronage of the Earl of Macclesfield. The church id dedicated to St. James.
